Magnesium oxide (MgO) is commonly known as bitter powder, light burned magnesium oxide powder, calcined brucite powder and heavy magnesium oxide. Density is 2.94, melting point is 2852℃, and boiling point is 3600℃. It is souble in acid and ammonium salts, insoluble in water and ethyl alcohol. The specific surface area is 180m2/g at the calcination temperature of 400 ° C, is 3m2/g at 1300℃.
2. Uses:
(1) Industry
Light burned magnesium is widely used in steel mills and power plants for desulfurization. It can also be used for the production of magnesia bricks.
(2) Animal husbandry
Magnesium oxide with low heavy metal content can be sprayed on farms and used as animal feed to enhance the nutritional needs of animals in farms.
(3) Construction industry
This product can be used in producing particleboard, insulation column, railings, artificial marble, asbestos tile, ordinary tile and wall panel in building material industry.
